  • Nutrients in water and bottom sediments.
  • Eutrophication processes, natural and anthropogenic sources of eutrophication.
  • Biohydrochemical processes in the sea anthropogenic impact zones, in limans, deltas and wetland’s ecosystems.

1973 – Odessa State University named after I.I. Mechnikov, chemical faculty.

PhD in geographical sciences «Regularities of the Danube River (Ukrainian part) nutrients runoff formation and its role in eutrophication of the north-western part of the Black Sea», 2005 (11.00.07 – land hydrology, water resources, hydrochemistry). Odessa State Environmental University.

 

Professional carrier:

1975–2014 – head of laboratory assistant, engineer, junior researcher, senior researcher, Odessa branch of the Institute of Biology of Southern Seas, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

2014 – to the present time – leading researcher, Institute of Marine Biology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IMB NAS).

  • Project GEF, UNDP, IМО «GloBallast» «Basic researches of the marine environment and aquatic organisms of the Odessa port, as a section of the National plan for Ukraine on ballast water management» (2001–2003).
  • International educational project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation «NEAR 2» «Network for environmental assessment and remediation of aquatic ecosystems» (2001–2003).
